Join a community partners' listserv
What is a listserv anyway?
It´s just an email group used by a certain collection of people with a common interest - in our case human and social service providers.
Community Action's I&R program currently moderates the "caofind" listserv which has been helping service providers communicate with each other since 1999. There are currently about 450 members, all providing services to people in Washington County.
We welcome members from all areas of community partners... government, faith based, non-profits, coalitions, volunteer based service providers. Our email groups provide an opportunity for all of us to network with our collegues. Members can address their message to a single email address and the information they are sharing is delivered to the entire group. Members might use it to get information from the others on the listserv. For example, if a member is having difficulty finding a wheelchair for a client, they can send an email message to the "caofind" listserv. Shortly everyone in the group will know of their need and can respond if they know of a provider that can help. In addition, it can be used to inform others of upcoming client events, trainings, program or service changes, special requests or position openings at your agency, etc.

Netiquette?
Yes, folks, there is an etiquette for email. We’ve added a “Netiquette” page to give you some guidelines and answer some of the questions we frequently hear. Please take a few minutes to look at the helpful hints we’ve gathered there.
